Paul McCartney, Kanye West, Rihanna Team Up for 'FourFiveSeconds

Paul McCartney and Kanye West linked up with Rihanna

Three weeks after
Paul McCartney and Kanye West released their surprise collaboration "Only One," the duo have linked up with Rihanna for the soft, acoustic track "FourFiveSeconds." The song is available .

"I think I've had enough," sings Rihanna over the percussion-less, acoustic guitar-driven track. "I might get a little drunk / I say what's on my mind / I might do a little time / 'Cause all of my kindness is taken for weakness." West takes over on vocals, crooning, "Woke up an optimist/ Sun was shining, I'm positive/ Then I heard you was talkin' trash / Hold me back, I'm bout to spaz." West and Rihanna handle all of the song's vocals, duetting on the chorus with McCartney providing keyboards on the song.
Two days after "Only One" was released, rapper Ty Dolla $ign stoked anticipation for the track, stating that the then-unnamed song was "gonna drop soon." It's unclear if "FourFiveSeconds" will appear on an album by any of the artists, though Ty Dolla $ign told Billboard earlier this month that the song would likely appear on West's upcoming album.
West previewed "FourFiveSeconds" at the IHeartRadio Summit music industry event in Los Angeles on Thursday, where the rapper surprised the audience with a 45-minute, stream-of-consciousness speech about his "responsibility to innovate." (The same speech in which he revealed that he asked McCartney, "What was pussy like in the Sixties?") West played "FourFiveSeconds" straight off his computer, promptly slamming his laptop shut and walking offstage before announcing the song's release date.
Fans of West shouldn't be too surprised to hear McCartney on another of his tracks. When "Only One" was released, a spokesperson for the rapper said that the song would be the first "publicly available recording from what has become a prolific musical collaboration between these two legendary artists."
McCartney and West began work on "Only One" earlier last year in Los Angeles, starting with, as the statement notes, "a simple brainstorming session between the two, with McCartney improvising on the keyboards and Kanye vocally sketching and shaping ideas in a stream-of-consciousness riff." It's unclear if "FourFiveSeconds," with its similar mellow vibe, was also a result of these sessions.

Blake Shelton takes over 'Saturday Night Live' this weekend: Talk about it here!

SNL.jpg

Perhaps that’s an unfair statement. Country star Blake Shelton’s status as The Voice‘s top dog—he’s one of only two celebrity coaches to appear on every season of the series, and his contestants have won the competition’s big prize a whopping four out of seven times—certainly isn’t the only reason he’s been tapped to serve as Saturday Night Live‘s host and musical guest tonight.
Anyone who’s tuned in for even a single Voice episode knows that Shelton’s more than a country singer. His easygoing, down-home charm and likable banter with his fellow coaches—especially Adam Levine, who was tapped to pull double duty on SNL himself two years ago—both made Shelton the hit show’s breakout star and indicate that he’d be more than comfortable in a variety show setting. See also: Shelton’s 2012 holiday special, Blake Shelton’s Not So Family Christmas, the highlight of which is a claymation sketch that finds the host and his pal Larry the Cable Guy accidentally murdering Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
But wait: There’s also more comedy on Shelton’s resume. He’s a frequent late-night guest, particularly on his home network’s franchises—and through those visits, Shelton has proven that he knows how to fully commit to a bit, no matter how silly it may be. The best example is probably this Tonight Show clip, in which Shelton teams with Jimmy Fallon, Nick Offerman, and Tonight writer Chris Tartaro to perform a cover of The Lumineers’ “Ho Hey”… while dressed in giant chicken suits. Oh, and instead of singing, they cluck. So yeah—if all goes well, Shelton could very well crush it tonight, and not just on the musical stage. If so, he’d join a proud tradition of country singers who’ve proven to be surprisingly nimble when pulling double duty on SNL, including Dolly Parton, Garth Brooks, and some percentage of Miley Cyrus. (In fact, one could argue that country crooners tend to do better on average than pop stars when tapped for Saturday Night Live—maybe because country is an inherently theatrical genre, or because it’s a type of music that traditionally prizes lyrical cleverness over musical production and sex appeal. Oh, and for the purposes of this hypothetical argument, Timberlake doesn’t count.)
Either way, we can expect to see Shelton’s episode feature numerous jokes about rednecks, the NFL’s ridiculous Deflate-Gate scandal (which has “cold open” written all over it), the State of the Union address (and President Obama’s cheeky wink), American Sniper (and the controversy surrounding it), and Adam Levine. P.S. If Levine doesn’t turn up for a cameo himself tonight, I will eat Pharrell’s hat.
What are you hoping to see from Blake Shelton on Saturday Night Live—both on the musical stage and off it? Discuss here, and meet us back in the morning for a full recap.

Taylor Swift Treats Her Fans Like Her Own BFFs – Here’s Proof!

After 25-year-old Rebekah Bortniker posted a self-edited video featuring clips of the starlet and her famous pals mashed together to the theme song ofFriends on Tumblr, Taylor not only began reblogging and responding to her creative fan’s posts, but decided to send her a gift. And not just an ordinary gift, but several presents that ranged from a handwritten letter, a necklace that once belonged to Taylor, Polaroid photos, and a check for $1,989 to help pay off some pesky student loans.
ET caught up with the lucky fan at her home in Kansas to hear about the touching experience first-hand.
“She started liking [my posts] out of the blue and then I got a message asking for my information ‘cause they saw I was a great fan,” Rebekah explained. “Next thing I know I get a little emoticon from her and the next day I get a message saying I needed to be home to sign for something that would be arriving. And, then Monday evening there's a knock on the door and it’s one of her body guards delivering a box of gifts!”

Bill Cosby accuser Chloe Goins to seek criminal charges

Bill Cosby speaks on Veterans Day in Philadelphia on 11 Nov 2014

A model who claims she was drugged and sexually abused by Bill Cosby has met with police in LA, to determine whether criminal charges could be filed.
The alleged incident happened at the Playboy Mansion six years ago, according to Chloe Goins, now 24.
She is the first woman to accuse Cosby of abuse whose case may fall within the US statute of limitations, meaning potentially he could be charged.
Cosby faces a number of allegations by women dating back to the '70s and '80s.
The comedian, who has not been charged, has denied previous claims, calling them "fantastical" and "uncorroborated".
Spencer Kuvin, Ms Goins' lawyer, said the model had decided to come forward after hearing other women's accounts, which made her realise she may have a valid case against the 77-year-old comedian.
"Ms Goins and I are here for two reasons: For justice and accountability," he said.
Ms Goins claims that when she was 18, she was drugged and sexually assaulted by Mr Cosby while attending a party at Hugh Hefner's mansion in Los Angeles in 2008.
She claims she passed out at the party and woke up in a bedroom, naked, with Mr Cosby standing over her.
Mr Kuvin added: "We hope that the people that are paying to attend Mr Cosby's shows understand that these victimised women have broken their silence now and they will not remain quiet any longer."
Statute of limitations
Over the past three months, more than a dozen women have come forward alleging that Cosby had sexually abused them.
Many of those allegations are decades old and fall outside California's eight-year statute of limitations for criminal or civil cases. There have been calls for Mr Cosby to waive the statute.
LA police commander Andrew Smith said he could not confirm any investigation into Mr Cosby and that sexual abuse cases were "extremely confidential."
At least 10 dates on the comedian's stand-up tour, as well as some scheduled TV appearances, were cancelled following the initial allegations against him, which surfaced last autumn.
He is best known as Dr Cliff Huxtable on The Cosby Show from 1984 to 1992, which was a huge hit in the US and around the globe.

Movie Review: ‘American Sniper’

(Bradley Cooper stars in "American Sniper.")
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — The opening scene grabs us by the throat before we’ve even settled in.
The title character of American Sniper, flat on his stomach on a rooftop in Iraq, trains his high-powered rifle sight on the street below, where an Iraqi woman and her young son have emerged through a doorway.  When the woman pulls out what appears to be a pipe bomb, he has to make a split-second, life-or-death decision.
Should he squeeze the trigger?  These are, after all, a woman and a child.
But they may be, after all, combatants who threaten the lives of his fellow soldiers.  There will be consequences of one kind or another whichever path he chooses.
American Sniper, directed by Clint Eastwood, is a grim, gritty, and gripping combat drama about warfare during which such moments and decisions and confrontations become, if not routine, then at least less than extraordinary.
Bradley Cooper stars as real-life Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, who did four tours of duty in Iraq and became the most accomplished and decorated marksman in US history with 160 confirmed kills of suspected insurgents.
Known by his admiring comrades-in-arms as “Legend,” his chief mission involved searching for “The Butcher,” an Iraqi sniper.
A bulked-up Cooper, hefting 40 extra pounds (and his Oscar nominations for his work in Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle in his back pocket), gives another assured performance as Kyle, showing us the gradual changes this man of few words undergoes, clearly haunted by his wrenching military experience and experiencing what certainly seems like some version of post-traumatic stress syndrome.
Sienna Miller contributes a career-best supporting turn as Taya, Kyle’s wife, whom Kyle leaves behind almost immediately after they are married when he ships out.  And in the eyes of the eventual mother of his two children, he keeps her at a distance from that point on.
Miller makes Taya’s frustration and fear and hurt palpable and touching.
Kyle gets so used to being the sniper over there that, before long, he feels away from home when he is home with his family.  And that’s because his definitions of home and family have radically changed.
“I need you to be human again,” his wife says to him at one point.
This provocative portrait of an Iraq War legend is up to director Eastwood’s already high standards.
Not that his directorial range has been in doubt (Mystic River, Unforgiven, The Bridges of Madison County, Flags of Our Fathers), but his 2014 double dip of Jersey Boys and American Sniper is a further demonstration of the prolific octogenarian auteur’s moviemaking versatility and prowess.
This absorbing, intense war flick puts us in mind of The Hurt Locker as Eastwood continues his career-long investigation of violence and its ramifications.  And if his film isn’t quite in the class of that 2010 Oscar winner for best picture, it’s at the very least a meritorious companion piece.
Jason Dean Hall’s screenplay, which is based on the autobiography co-written by Kyle, avoids politics pretty much completely in what is an experiential exploration of the war.
True, we exit this arresting exploration wishing that it had offered a bit more in the way of insight into Kyle’s psychology and motivation -– his inner life — before, during, and after his tours of duty.  And perhaps to a degree the obligatory thriller elements compromise the film’s attempt to focus on the consequences of the violence.
But this is nonetheless a riveting and provocative profile.
So we’ll aim at 3 stars out of 4 for a bracing military character study in which sharpshooter Bradley Cooper gives it his best shot under the guidance of sharp shooter Clint Eastwood.

Jennifer Aniston Celebrates ‘Cake’ L.A. Premiere In the Middle of Awards Buzz

Jennifer Aniston at the 'Cake' premiere.

The night before the Oscar nominations are announcements, a hopeful Jennifer Anistonand the filmmakers of Cake celebrated the film’s release at the ArcLight theater in Hollywood.

“I just put my phone on,” Aniston told reporters about her awards announcement ritual. “I actually usually have my ringer off so I was told I’m not allowed to do that. My ringer will be on so don’t call.”

Since Cake’s premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, Aniston’s role as an acerbic woman suffering chronic pain has led critics to predict a possible Oscar nomination. After the former Friends star transitioned from comedy to a more dramatic, complex character, she expressed what she’s looking for in her next role.

“My goal is to do something that really matters to me,” Aniston told THR. “It can be another comedy, it can be a thriller, I don’t care what it is. This experience was so fulfilling creatively that I want to be very particular.”
Kristin Hahn, who served as Aniston’s producing partner through their company Echo Films  was most surprised by Aniston’s drive to become involved with the project.

“She read the script overnight and said ‘I have to do this.’" said Hahn. "She really fought for the role. I think the momentum of not over thinking it at all and not giving ourselves the chance to second guess was really unique. I think it served the project very well.”

Cake was developed and shot in under a year and also stars Anna Kendrick, Felicity Huffman, Sam Worthington and William H. Macy. Director Daniel Barnz (Won't Back Down, Phoebe in Wonderland) is proud of Aniston for living up to her “sterling” reputation as an actress both in temperament and talent.

“When you get into a film atmosphere and everybody is working so hard and it’s so stressful, you never know what kind of colors you’ll see from somebody,” Barnz told THR. "She was just amazing through and through. She was so giving and so gracious and worked so hard."

Barnz admitted that it will be hard to get sleep after the premiere with the Oscar nominations the next morning.

“I think we are going to try to sleep. We will unlikely be successful and let the phone wake us up, but we’ll see what happens.”

Barnz and his partner Michael Barnz also dished they are teaming with Cake screenwriter Patrick Tobin on another upcoming project. After Daniel Barnz judged Tobin’s winning Cake screenplay at a screenwriting competition, Barnz approached Tobin about collaborating for the script which also made the 2013 Black List.
